One New Man

This issue of The Golden Candlestick contains four chapters about the Church’s calling to represent her risen Lord and be His witness. We do not know the occasion of this series of talks given by T. Austin-Sparks, but it must have been a conference held during WO II. The transcription of the first meeting is not included here, as it has already been published on austin-sparks.net, with the same title.

Other-worldliness
The challenge for the Church is to proclaim Christ, which implies that she is altogether different from the world that is characterized by fallen nature. The word the speaker uses is other-worldliness and he shows how the Holy Spirit is essential in this matter.

Since January 2020 “The Golden Candlestick” is no longer published in printed form, only as pdf, Epub or read-online-version. To some this may feel as a loss, but it also gives more opportunity to interact, or in other words, to have fellowship.
The “About …” page is meant to be an editorial, as it has been the custom of the publishers of The Golden Candlestick brochure, to summarize the main points of the message and say a word of encouragement. But it would be great to hear about the reader’s findings and comments as well and give opportunity for open discussion. For this purpose we have provided a Forum page. Of course it is possible to use e-mail for this purpose as well, or the contact form. In the dark age in which we live, Christians need one another in order to be encouraged to follow our Lord Jesus faithfully and to keep close to the Word of God.
